What aluminum wheels need to deliver
Aluminum wheels are considered to be "important safety parts" under the Road Transport Vehicle Act. As they are parts that rotate at high speeds while receiving various "inputs (stresses)" generated by the weight, driving force, braking force, and the running of the vehicle, they are required to have the following functions and performance.
-
●Must be strong enough to withstand the vehicle weight and load (stress)
→
Design, manufacturing and various tests based on advanced strength calculations
-
●Must be able to hold the tires securely
→
Patented technology, special technology such as double hump
-
●The shape must be perfectly round and well-balanced overall.
→
High-performance, high-quality rim manufacturing technology
-
●High durability under weather and usage conditions
→
Unique testing and processing techniques such as WORK flow forming
-
●Ability to efficiently disperse heat generated by tires and brakes
→
Well-thought-out design and processing technology
Due to these conditions, aluminum wheels are required to be
strong, light, accurate, excellent heat dissipation, and beautifully designed
*These functions and performance must be provided while also meeting the established laws (safety standards).
At Work, we develop our own technologies (patents) and conduct many unique tests to meet these conditions.
The Best of Technology: "WORK Solid Rim"
Solid Rim
The secret to the high quality of WORK is not only the development design and craftsmanship. We are always searching for new technologies and manufacturing methods. In particular, we place emphasis on patents and quality control. WORK's rims are manufactured using the world's most advanced technology. By processing the flange part into a solid block during rim molding, the strength and rigidity are dramatically improved. [Patent No. 3933143]
Dagrip
The Dagrip rim is a rim that was derived from the WORK Solid rim and has a stepped rim end that gives it a sharp look. WORK rims are the only ones in the world that use this technology.
Hump
The raised part molded into the outer side of a reverse-shaped rim is called the hump. This hump prevents the tire bead from falling off. This WORK Solid Rim is a one-piece mold with a hump that does not require cutting during rim molding, which is why it has succeeded in achieving both improved productivity and reliability at a high level. This hump formation ensures performance and safety equivalent to that of products compatible with run-flat tires.

*Hump: A shape that prevents the tire bead from slipping off the rim even if the air pressure inside the tire drops due to a problem.
Race-proven quality for the market
Starting with the WORK Emotion series, the inner rim is molded using a flow forming method, which applies pressure to the rim of the cast material while stretching it. This method makes the macro-structure of the forged aluminum finer, increasing its flexibility, and by reducing the thickness of the rim, the weight is reduced, which successfully achieves a metal flow comparable to that of forging. The tensile strength and tenacity required for the inner rim are dramatically improved. At the same time, the outer rim is also designed to be highly impact resistant, greatly improving the performance of conventional cast wheels. It is necessary to be able to run in harsh conditions such as the All Japan Rally Championship and dirt trials, and to be able to run through even if it bursts. For this reason, this technology is indispensable. At Work, these rally wheels and commercially available products are manufactured using the same method.
All domestic factories are ISO9001 certified.
ISO is a set of common standards to facilitate smooth trade between countries, and its official name is the International Organization for Standardization. It stands for the International Organization for Standardization, and refers to the standards established by this organization.
ISO is a third-party audit and certification in which a company clearly documents its rules and has a third party certify that its manufacturing processes, products, and services are managed in accordance with the established rules. The third party refers to an ISO auditing organization, and being audited by this auditing organization and receiving certification that "this company can be trusted" means that the organization meets the requirements based on international standards. It also means that the organization has gained the trust of society and customers.
ISO9001 is a standard for quality management systems that aims to continually improve the quality of products and services provided to customers. Acquiring ISO9001 not only earns social trust, but also enables the discovery of problems from a third-party perspective and continuous improvement through ongoing audits.
Since acquiring ISO9001 in 2003, WORK has been striving to improve quality every day while protecting its quality. Since these are parts that hold the lives of our customers in their hands, we will not compromise on anything. This is proof of WORK's quality assurance.
The pride of MADE IN JAPAN
WORK has inherited the traditions from its founding, and has strived to improve its technology and quality every day. As a result, there are now many WORK fans not only in Japan but all over the world. Japanese product brands are highly regarded by customers all over the world, and WORK wheels are no exception.
At Work, many of our one-piece wheels and all of our two-piece and three-piece wheels are MADE IN JAPAN quality, produced in domestic factories. With WORK wheels, customers can focus on their own preferences, coolness, and originality without worrying about quality.
*Products made entirely in Japan are marked with the "MADE IN JAPAN" icon in the catalog and on the website.
