2.Selecting wheels

■Make sure the size and inset of wheels, the bolt pattern, P.C.D.(pitch circle diameter)and shape of mount plate are to be fitted to the vehicle. The wheels cannot be mounted if any of the foregoing attributes are not compatible.

警告
Use the same size and offset or the spec Use the same size and offset or the spec otherwise it can impair the car’s natural ride, dribing performance, etc.
注意
Use wheels that match the size of the tires. If not,it causes the damage not only on wheels but also on tires.

3.Installing air valve and tire

■When installing new tire, please use new specified valve stems because an old valve stem with deteriorated seal may cause air leakage.
■Use the short type valve core(model number JIS type B no.9000).

注意
Always use the specified valve stem. Using other valve stems with unmatched size or shape may cause air leakage.

■There are 2 types of wheels to be installed tire on either in-set or out-set. Install tires according to the type of wheels.
■Always use the lubricant when installing tires on wheels.

警告
Follow the tire manufacturers instructions and pay careful attention when utilizing mounting equipment and filling the tires with air for safety reasons.
注意
After installing tires, always inspect for air leakage by immersing it in a soap water tank to make sure there’s no air leakage in the area where tire mates with the rim,or in the area around the valve grommet.
注意
After installing tires, always adjust the balance of all the wheels.

4.Installing wheels
ホイールの車体への装着

■Note that a wheel comes with a 60 - degree taper, spherical,or flat lug nut or bolt seats. Use nuts or bolts that match the shape of the seats.(or use dedicated nuts or bolts as instructecd)
■Check if the nuts or bolts can metch the screw diameter and pitch of the vehicle.
■Use appropriate nuts and bolts for spare wheels, too.
■Tighten nuts or bolts properly with appropriate torque.
■First tighten all the nuts and bolts temporarily with low torque, then make sure to tighten all of them to the appropriate torque evenly.
Ex.For 60°degree tapered seat, appropriate torque is as below; M10 screw = 50-70N・m(5-7kgf・m), M12=90-120N・m(9-12kgf・m), M14=160-180N・m(19-18kgf・m). For any additional information, please contact the wheel manufacturer.

【How to tighten bolts】

ボルトの締め付け手順

■Use torque wrench when tightening the nuts and bolts.
■When installing on the vehicle, check all the wheels to make sure there is no contact with the cehicle body when fully turning the steering wheel to the right and left.
■Make sure that tires and wheels should not come out from the fenders, which is prohibited by law.

危険
Make sure that tires and wheels should not come out from the fenders, which is prohibited by law.
危険
There are possibilities of wheels falling off while driving if the vehicle has corrosion, stain or deformation on the mount face or hub bolt area or if there’s interference between mount faces of wheels and vehicle.(On some car models, there are screws or pins protruding from the mount face.)
危険
Excessive torque and insufficient torque are both dangerous as they may cause the bolt hole deformation, looseness, and severe accident.
危険
Do not tighten nuts and bolts with an impact wrench. Over-tightening in this manner could damage the nuts and bolts or could cause the wheel deformation which result in severe accident. Tighten at appropriate torque with torque wrench.

5.Driving after Installing the wheels

■Lug nuts and bolts come loose after initial installation or rotation, so retighten them to the appropriate torque setting after adiving approximately 100km(60miles) of use.
■Make sure that nuts and bolts are well-tightened in a daily maintenance.Center cap, center cover and lock-screw of those covers are as well.

危険
If an abnormal vibration or sound is sensed during driving, immediately pull over at a safe location and inspect the wheels. Check the nuts or bolts for their looseness, the wheels for deformation, and the conditions of tires and vehicles. In case anyting needed to be repaired or exchange is done.
危険
Riding over sidewalks, curbs, reflector, and dips in the road may cause deforming and cracking wheels. Be careful when driving to avoid this kind of situation.
危険
Never drive wildly or in a way that strains the vehicle such as sudden accelerating, sudden braking, sharp turns etc. Such behavior not only can damage tires and wheels, but can cause serious accident.
危険
Befor driving, always check the tire pressure.
When using the tire sized with 45% or lower aspect raio, we recommend to adjust its pressure within 2.7-3.5kgf/cm² range. (approx. 2.65- 3.43bar or 38.40-49.78psi)
For other sizes, please adjust to the pressure recommended by car manufacturer.
Insufficient tire pressure can result in damage to tires and wheels event from the small impact.

6.Maintenance and storage conditions

■Aluminum alloy wheels are susceptible to corrosion when they are exposed to salt or mud. Therefore, wash them with water after driving the vehicle on the beach or on a snowy or unpaved road. The use of soft-cloth is suitable when wiping the wheel.
■Using car wash equipment could scratch the wheels. It is the best way to wash by hand. When doing so,be careful with sharp edges, which could be hazardous to your hands.
■When storing these wheels/tores for a prolonged perid of time, protect them from direct sunlight, rain, oil, moisture, fumidity and high temperature.
■Uninstalled tire wheels should have 1/2 of tire air pressure of standard use and been kept in storage.
■When re-installation, always check its tire pressure to the recommended level, wheel balance, and nuts and bolts tightended to the appropriate torque.

7.Other cautions
危険
Never disassemble the rim and the center disc of a two-piece wheels or three-piece wheel, and never loosen or tighten then rim pierce bolt, which create an imbalance in the tightening force of the bolts, which reduces the strength of the wheels and cause ir liakage and vibration.
危険
Never repair or modify the wheels by yourself or by a repair shop.
The strength of wheels could decrease due to invisible deformations or the thermal effects of welding.
For repair the wheels, contact with authorized dealers or the wheels manufacturer.
危険
Due to a shape of full reverse rim, it may experience a vibration of steering wheel while you are driving fast in the rain.
This is because some rainwater gets stuck in the inner rim part and the phenomenon is varied depending on the speed, road condition and other factor.

8.Wheel safety standard

JWL, JWL-T and VIA Standard
The aluminum wheels are in compliance with the Japan Light Alloy Wheel(JWL)or Japan Light Alloy Wheel Truck & Bus(JWL-T) standard, and have passed the tests conducted by the Vehicle Inspection Association(VIA). To ensure the proper safety and performance of the wheels, please follow this instruction carefully. For any additional information, contact the dealer where you purchased the products.

  • Japan Light Alloy Wheel standard is the safety standard that applies to light alloy wheels for passenger cars(excluding cars carrying 11 or more people, motorcycles, and motorcycles with side cars). The tests prescribes by this technical standard are carried out at the responsibility of the manufacturer themselves and wheels that confirm to the standard are labeled with the JWL mark.

  • Japan Light Alloy Truck & Bus standard is the safety standard that applies to light alloy wheels for trucks and buses. The tests prescribed by this technical standard are carried out at the responsibility of the manufacturer themselves and wheels that conform to the standard are labeled with the JWL-T mark.

  • A Third-party entity called the Vehicle Inspection
Association verifies whether a product meets the requirements prescribed by the JWL or JWL-T standard. This association permits a product to bear a VIA mark if it passes rigorous quality and strength verification tests conducted in accordance with the JWL or JWL-T standard.
